He is also presumptuous, arrogant and delusional, and cannot tell the difference between secularism and its opposite. He wears his religion on his sleeve to intimidate others, or impress them.
His religious belief is his personal affair. I don't want to know about it, although I respect his right to believe in whatever religion he wants to claim. The world is bleeding right now from trigger- happy, exhibitionist, zealots who couldn't keep their religious belief in check.

"My Father God, thank You, it's the most wonderful thing to be loved and honoured by You." – Jerke de Vries.
If his last name is not "God", has he not committed a fraud, or at the minimum impersonation?

Two unwise decisions have taken place here: Prohibiting the student from acknowledging God in his work, and tearing off the acknowledgment page from the thesis in defiance of the school authority. In my judgment, the quintessentially parochial school won; they did not want to see God mentioned on the pages of the thesis and, alas, those pages are now gone! This is what I would have done: I never lived in a Dutch country but if there is any resemblance to what we call "Civil Rights" in America in that place, I would retain a Johnnie Cochran kind of civil rights attorney and insist on leaving my cherished heart-felt acknowledgement as I wished it. After all, my acknowledgment has nothing to do with the content and context of my writing. Even Einstein said "If something is in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it." So why should science and God (religion) necessarily be mutually exclusive?" I bet if that guy had acknowledged Satan in his work, no eyebrow would be raised. Arrant nonsense!
