Abiola Irele is dead? What a devastating loss. He was one of our most insightful and generous scholars whose weighty books illuminated Africa's literary expressions and bridged the gulfs created by the Anglo and Franco colonial legacies.
Beyond being an extraordinary, world class scholar, Irele was also a deeply humane person.
May his generous soul find eternal rest.
Okey
