Devastating news! An exceptional intellectual and humanist with stunning insight, rare knowledge and remarkable generosity. He was able to bridge so many different cultures, languages, concepts and artistic approaches. In the present world situation, his departure will be leaving a very deep void, one that African Studies will not overcome easily. May he continue to guide us from the land of the Ancestors.
