Ayo, Speaking of highlighted Nigeria—America contrasts; here's one relating to Canada-America contrasts. You see July 1 was CANADA DAY. Celebrations of 150 years since Confederation. Does the massive influence of USA re principle/ value help Canada to grow into a mature / responsible/ self-assured and confident people, with an outlook founded on a modern inclusive, actuating world view? Will Trumpie provide the lead that Trudeau Mk II, can follow to move towards these ends?Is this the kind of lead; indeed the root ethic that Nigeria folk can grow and benefit from as a social and political entity?Baba M

Subject: HISTORY WRONG ?Re:
My oh my. Somebody seems to have got the history wrong. Only the Inuit and First-Nations folk "own" Canada—which they would never accept as a proper and accurate assertion, as the land belongs to all the people. In the Indian/ Inuit view, you can no more "own" the land, than you can the air we breathe. As for us Euro/ Alien folk, no matter how much/ how loudly we shout/ make syrupy patriotic noises, we are merely usurpers and Second-Nations folk. Time we learned a little manners. Behaved ourselves. Showed a little humility. Became a little less like those to the South who are daily reminded, hands on heart, that they are Gawwwd's Chosen People. As Trumpie constantly repeats "Amerika First". Indeed. Nothing new in that.mv
Happy Canada Day.
Check out you tube - 'This Is My Canada' by Jeanette Arsenault ( I think). The song is actually 25 years old but was given an update for this particular 150 Anniversary occasion.
