Subject: University of Ilorin in Photos, 2.

Ilorin and its University in photos below. This University is far better, in its layout and architecture, than many universities in the US. It is one of the largest universities in the world, over 750 hectares in its expansive space. You cannot walk it. It is green, very green in the savannah. The buildings are well constructed, impressive designs that pay attention to the climate. The consistency of its yellow color is amazing. Set within a never ending green, the entire place is majestic. The scene changes in the early morning and late evening: as the cloud provides colors of grey and blue, they wrap the yellow and green in a big envelope of coordinated colors. The place begins to create an enchantment that produces intellectual creativity. Standing in one location, I was completely stunned. PS—Permanent Site—the people in the city call the University, is a place to be. I was there when the students were competing for the offices in the Union, in ways different from mine. While we used to move from place to place, distributing leaflets for Ayo Olukotun to become president, or Aketi (now the Governor of Ondo State) to become union member, the Ilorin students were campaigning in Camry cars. I was not envious, just realizing that my world and their world cannot be the same. It should not be. As my world is winding down, may theirs rise and rise.
