Dear Chidi : Agreed
I dreamed our Brother Dylan last night - he gave me a brown coat (like the one that Mullah Omar was said to possess) - I put it on and went on an errand to get him some cigarettes - a long, complicated very vocal and verbal dream - anyway here's another line from him:
" But to live outside the law, you must be honest
I know you always say that you agree..." (Absolutely Sweet Marie)
Of course ( yes of course) we don't know which law he's talking about, if it's the 613 backed by the Heavenly Torah and Talmud or as in your case and in the case of Brother Nnamdi Kanu, the law of the Federal Republic of the Naija ( no joking matter ) as Raila Odinga said yesterday, some of them should be behind bars (that's where they belong).
Agreed , but the drafters of that petition should not take poetic license or get carried away by fear or their hatred or their imagination - law number one with such petitions: No exaggeration , no poetic hyperboles that distort the truth or reality.
The Secretary-General of the United Nations reads the petition, he closes his eyes and what does he see assembled on the horizon? A massive army about to descend on the innocent people of Biafra: " the massive mobilization by the Fulani herdsmen intent on waging a jihadist genocidal war against Ndigbo and massacring them as was done during the Biafra war of July 6th, 1967 to January 15, 1970"
The Secretary-General sees an imminent genocide of the Igbo nation and that should be enough reason for him to call for an emergency session of the Security Council - something similar happened with Libya, the evening that Saif Gaddafi said that they were going into Benghazi, to wipe out the rats and cockroaches there - overnight Uncle Sam swung into action. The rest is history...
For far too long now some people have been using "Fulani herdsmen" as their whipping boy, pretty much as their Purim "Haman " - hear all the kids banging on the synagogue tables as they vilify Haman.
Paradoxically, look at this : who is pleading with Fulani president Buhari to have mercy on Nnamdi?
Biafra: Fulani herdsmen tell Nigerian government to give Nnamdi Kanu second chance
The wording of UN Resolution 242 is a good reason for more care with wording , especially with documents that can be dissected by legal brains.... the difference between "territories" and "the territories" - the cause of much prevarication...
sincerely
Cornelius

Mazi Cornelius,
Agreed that the communication should have been presented in a clearer way, but they made their point all the same.
