Register for the MAAAS 2017 Conference

If you have not yet registered for the 2017 MAAAS Annual Meeting, make sure to do so by Monday, October 9, to benefit from the early registration rate. You can register online and pay your conference fee and membership dues here. On-line registration rates will increase by $10 after October 9. You also have the option to register at the conference at this higher rate. Regrettably we cannot accept any credit or debit card payments on-site (cash and checks only). Your conference registration includes a light breakfast and hot lunch on Saturday as well as refreshments served at both the opening and closing receptions. (Please note that there will be a cash bar at Saturday's reception at the Oread Hotel).

We also want to remind our out-of-town visitors to finalize their travel and accommodation arrangements. For details on travelling to Lawrence and available accommodation options, please visit our website. Feel free to direct any logistical questions to us at kasc@ku.edu. We are happy to help make your stay run smoothly!

The preliminary conference program is available here or on our website. We are delighted to have a long-time MAAAS member, Dr. Glenn Adams (Psychology, University of Kansas), deliver the opening conference address on Friday afternoon. Following his remarks we will celebrate the Kansas African Studies Center's 25-year anniversary at the opening reception. We are excited to see you and cement future partnerships with friends, sturdy supporters, and our new colleagues from neighboring states and institutions.

Again, please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions regarding the upcoming conference and its program.

We look forward to seeing you later this month at the University of Kansas in Lawrence!

Travel Well,
The KASC Team
