The tone for me implicitly is a crude manifestation of "American Exceptionalism." Presumably, the US can judge other nations of the world but only God can judge the US.
But wait until you watch the long documentary film produced by PBS in collaboration with many scholars of religion titled. "God in America" and you will see how God has been socially constructed, domesticated and contested in US history.
Furthermore, even as people are preparing to celebrate Christmas, there is a well-written book titled "The American Jesus: How the son of God Became a national icon." The American Jesus is a cultural creation. As one scholar described him, there is more logo in his name than "logos."
The way the whole UN vote issue was handled by Trump and Haley to me was to say the least embarrassing. And they claim to do all that in the name of the American people. I do not believe the majority of Americans embrace the manner the situation was handled.
