Great piece. We can even go further and set aside elaborate scams and scammers like Imafidon et al or those in politics: in many of our universities in Nigeria, there are many "quiet" academic scammers employed and promoted on the basis of fake degrees and certificates from prestigious or even obscure foreign (and local) institutions.
