Good day Sir,
There has been a curious consistency of opinion from Punch Newspapers ( i responded to one yesterday by Adelakun) on the weaknesses of current leadership.
My point remains that we have received an overdose of reasons why Buhari should not contest elections in 2019 based on various comments and perspective, which you added in todays editorial. but i think at this point the more value adding debate should be on the options. I keep emphasising this point ! To the extent that you are educating the electorate, you should go the full hug of throwing up possible and electable candidates for a replacement. We have to become more practical and bold about this. To criticize is not an intellectual task and may not even be exhaustive.
The truth in my mind is that we are all so fearful of the future because indeed there is a terrible dearth of credible persons, and worst still no one is publicly ready to stand behind any candidate as a viable alternative - so it doesn't become a reference point in the future.
I think these editorials should change gear, lets get more inspired by showing us the way forward, i don't think it is too early.
Adedayo, Lagos
