Well in Black Panther, we all saw all those bits and pieces of African past and present alongside Sci Fi scenes: fashion referents, historical referents, geography (such as the Smoke that Thunders, otherwise known as Victoria Falls) museum of stolen African sculpures, an all-female military cast said to reflect or to have been inspired by a purported or legendary all-female military in the Kingdom of Dahomey in the present-day Republic of Benin (one wonders how that came about in an African traditional milieu that's highly male centric), etc., but do all these, put together, add up to "real African culture" of the past or the present? How could Wakanda conceivably be interpreted as somehow symbolizing the diversity of the 55 countries of present-day Africa? Is that not a stretch?
