N.U. Akpan was the Chief Secretary to the secessionist government of Biafra led by the self-proclaimed General, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu. N.U. Akpan wrote his book, THE STRUGGLE FOR SECESSION: 1966-1970, already in 1971. It is on record that he fled Biafra in the same plane as Ojukwu to Ivory Coast on 11 January 1970. Neither Ojukwu nor Achuzie refuted any of the accounts narrated by Mr. Akpan in his book. But to nowadays ethnic jingoists, Mr. Akpan, being an Ibibio, must be a revisionist because he was not an Igbo.
Similarly, the Officer Administering the Government of Biafra from 10 January 1970, and an Ibibio, Major General Philip Effiong, must be a complete revisionist to an Igbo ethnic supremacist because of what he penned down about the pygmy, Achuzie, who ethnic jingoists have been parading as a giant.
In an intellectual discussion of this nature, it will not make sense to assert that Joseph Achuzie collapsed his battle fronts for Alani Akinrinade and Olusegun Obasanjo to pass and meet Philip Effiong without mentioning where Joseph Achuzie's so-called battle fronts were situated. In the same vein, only a literate oaf will assert that Achuzie had wanted to start guerrilla warfare against Nigeria but was persuaded to lay down arms without mentioning who persuaded him, Achuzie, not to start guerrilla war and why was he persuaded. He who is not a revisionist must be able to regale us with his multiple story narratives. Failure to do that would turn the revisionist vomit into spitting against the wind only to find the sputum landing on his face.
