Re: USA Africa Dialogue Series - Kenya Bans Film About 2 Girls in Love Because It’s ‘Too Hopeful’ - The New York Times

For those who think that all entertainment is permissible, I hope they understand that that is a false logic, built on the premise constructed to promote agendas that weaken the base of socio-cultural foundations of human survival as humans. Going on a limb, I would argue that responsible society must reserve some capacity to determine certain things as impermissible within its territory.

Incidentally, the European Court of Justice just ruled recently that marriage is between adult males and adult females. When the write-up claiming to lobby the Kenya Government was providing its reasoning, it suggested all it wanted was for adults to determine what they viewed. But it did not speak to the fact that parents have a responsibility also to guide their children in what is edifying to view.

How does society manage the contesting cleavages created by so-called modernity and its attendant equation of pleasure as the sole purpose of existence, while at the same time preventing human beings from falling of the cliff of bestiality? Why not pedophilia? Why not necrophilia? Could the proponents of the freedom of sexual orientation in good conscience argue selectively for their preferred means of pleasure and deprive some of their own means of preferred pleasure?

Recently, in Canada, parents came together to challenge the curriculum that was being foisted on their children through the backdoor. Why would we define some things as evil and not be able to see parallels where these exist. True, adults have always had the right to choose their behaviour. But adults also must face the responsibilities and consequences of their choices. Otherwise we are left in a Trumpian warped world of a-moralism.

Recently one of the East African countries prevented the nudist artiste from South Africa from performing in their own country. I salute their courage. We know that homosexuality is rife in Nigeria, among some rich groups, but that should not mean that it is a sustainable practice for humanity. That persons enjoy digging with the phallus the feces of others does not make it right or decent. Even the ladies in question may even enjoy eating each others' feces, which would be their choice. Should society show how they eat the feces of each other to children? Why does society not allow wholesale display of porn in all spaces? Can society have it all ways without destroying itself?

These are just questions from a backward person, if that's the most charitable way you could tag them. But should I be cowed into being unable to ask, because I will be called names - primitive, uncivilized, etc., etc., etc?
