USA Africa Dialogue Series - Nigeria Needs a UN Peacekeeping Force and National Referendum, Not Elections

Nigeria is no longer viable as a nation.

The Fulani led federal government of Nigeria is coordinating  a colonization strategy across the nation through militia using Fulani herdsmen as a penetration force, with Miyetti Allah, the umbrella Fulani herdsmen organisation, led by the most elite Fulani, as a pressure group representing the terrorists, justifying their massacres across the country, while the government alternates between claiming the terrorists are not Nigerians and trying to use political processes represented by a grazing routes bill and a cattle colonies bill to grant grazing routes and land across the nation to the terrorists, while providing support for them through the security agencies, particularly the army.

The situation has so degenerated that various state  state governors  have  initiated self help laws and built an internal, state militia,   influential public figures  are calling for citizen self defense against the government aided terrorist onslaught  and the Yoruba ethnic organisation, the South West based Odua Peoples Congress, has publicly stated their battle readiness for the Hausa-Fulani terrorist supremacists, while most of the political class remains paralyzed in strategising for their own futures.

We have reached the beginning of the end of Nigeria as a viable nation. What remains is to prevent the  steadily approaching national slide into total chaos.

Nigerians need to call for a UN resolution compelling  the government aided militia to withdraw from the Middle Belt  where they are daily engaging in ethnic cleansing. The Fulani herdsmen, their families and cattle who have moved into the Middle Belt in the wake of clearing communities through mass murder, should return to their places of origin.

The Nigerian army and other Nigerian security agencies, heavily compromised in  acting as agents for ethnic  cleansing in the Middle Belt, should also withdraw from the region.

The only military presence in the Middle Belt should be a UN peacekeeping force.

Nigerians also need to call for a UN executed referendum on the future of the nation.

The nation has been riven apart by right wing supremacist radicals from the Muslim North who initiated the 2011 Boko Haram Islamic terrorist resurgence against the government of a Southern origin President and against Christians in the Muslim North, a movement they lost control of as Boko Haram eventually turned on the people of the region. Similar forces are using the current  terrorist initiative through Fulani herdsmen in a more systematic, politically coordinated colonizing  terrorist campaign across the nation.

The Fulani national ruler Muhammadu Buhari, the central figure in this ethnic supremacist  terrorist campaign, most likely cannot be removed through the ballot box as many are hoping. His first act in office was to appoint his ethno-religious kin to the headship of most of the security agencies  as well as INEC, the Independent Electoral Commission.

He also has the tacit but eloquent support of his ethno-religious base represented by the Muslim North for this nation wide terrorist colonization initiative, as demonstrated by their silence as the rest of the nation cries out over the ongoing massacres, efforts from members of this group to downplay the ongoing massacres of  entire communities or the justifications of the colonizing orgy of blood by spokespeople from this group.

This demographic, as they did in 2015, will deliver massive block votes in Buhari's favour using both legal and illegal means, including using underage voters as they threaten voting officers to comply or face violence, an intimidation strategy  attested to even by INEC. Miyetti Allah has sworn to fight all efforts to remove Buhari. The murderous potential of Buhari's  supporters was demonstrated in the killing rampage they embarked on in revenge for his  loss in the 2011 Presidential elections.

Nigeria seems powerless to help themselves in this horror unprecedented in the country's history.
