Based on your request for appropriate reference, "identification marks" appear appropriate than "tribal" or "scarification" marks. "tribal" or "scarification" appear derogatory. Facial marks among other objectives serve primarily the purpose of identification.

It is a form of surgery so facial surgery may be a candidate. Facial scarification

may be another possibility although when I looked up the term I realized that  it is

often associated with artwork these days.
