Hello GG,
Though your concern is the South West of Nigeria (Yoruba I guess), for general literature, you can also read Ekhaguosa Aisien's Iwu: The body markings of the Edo people, (Revised Edition) Aisein Publications, Benin City, 2011. Regards.

Subject: USA Africa Dialogue Series - Facial Tribal Marks readings request
The USA-African Dialogue Family,
I am sourcing historical accounts and other scholarly papers on the phenomenon of tribal marks (facial) in Africa. I will appreciate a broad African literature but a concentration on the South West of Nigeria.
This is an area that steps outside of my comfort zone of Business and Management literature, so please do treat my request as one seeking complete guidance from a naïve position.
Can you please point me in the right direction? [gbola.gbadamosi@gmail.com]
Many thanks,
Gbolahan Gbadamosi
