I can't imagine that such a big institution doesn't have fire-proof encasements for the materials. For the past decades, there has been significant progress in the field of cultural policy in Brazil. A very interesting policy document was edited (2007) and actions was implemented.
Given the anatheme against President Lula and his legacy, I hope this is not a collateral crime against him and by the same way against the whole continent.
