Dear Colleagues in the Greater New York Area,

 

We are very happy to be hosting the 13^thGreater New York Area African History Workshop (GNYAAHW) at Princeton University.The workshop serves as an inviting space where faculty members and graduate students can meet in a small, intellectually rigorous, and collegial setting to share work-in-progress.

 

We envisage 4-5 panels with 3-4 papers each followed by Q&A, as has been the format in past years. We will be serving breakfast and lunch. Registration and breakfast will be at 8 AM and the sessions will start at 8:30 AM and end at 5 PM.

 

Please save Friday, April 5 as the day of the workshop. We will soon issue a call for paper proposals on any aspect of African History from faculty and graduate students in the region. We also invite volunteers to serve as panel moderators.

The deadline for submitting proposals is Friday January 31, 2018 and we will require a paper title, a 250-word abstract of the paper, and 1-page CV
