Dear Patron, As the excitement mounts for the opening of ART X Lagos 2018, we would like to share some key features of the fair. This year we are excited to see the return of the Interactive Projects, as well as ART X Live!, our one-night only visual art and live music showcase. Read below to find out more. It's now just 2 days until ART X Lagos 2018. If you haven't already, get your tickets now! We look forward to seeing you soon, from 3rd to 4th November. Team ART X | | | Interactive Projects | | | | | | Curated by A Whitespace Creative Agency, this year the Interactive Projects at ART X Lagos invite our guests to experience new ways of artistic expression. Themed 'Touch Space + The Future', we have invited Nigerian artists from all over the world to work together to interpret themes around sensory immersion. They combine art, technology, and sound, as influenced by the exhilarating city of Lagos. The first project is a multimedia experience titled 'Mad Horse City', which explores a futuristic imagination of Lagos in the year 2115. Created by Olalekan Jeyifous and Wale Lawal, it consists of a graphic novella, a series of imaginative vignettes, and a set of virtual reality environments. Meanwhile, our video above depicts 'Lagos Drawings', an interactive installation which combines digital technology, perceptible sounds and visual illustrations inspired by Lagosian textures. It is the result of a multidisciplinary collaboration led by Karo Akpokiere. | | | | | ART X Live! Presents Sonic Archive: They Knew Before The New | | | | | | For ART X Lagos 2018, we are delighted to see the return of ART X Live!, curated by Lanre Masha, with Odunsi "the engine" as Creative Director. This year, ART X Live! presents Sonic Archive: They Knew Before The New, a show which invites guests to indulge in an electric exploration of Africa's rich musical history. It celebrates our heroes past – the icons, legends and sounds that have shaped the continent's contemporary musical landscape. On Saturday 3rd November, we will bring together the fastest-rising alternative musicians and exciting young artists of the Lagos underground creative scene to deliver an unprecedented performance. Nigerian musicians BOJ, Teni the Entertainer, and Ghanaian singer Amaarae, will each give a live performance rooted in an exploration of the 80s, 90s and early 2000s. These will be accompanied by a visual display from young artists, Tomisin Akins, Chukwuka Nwobi, and Fade Ogunsanya. Expect to rediscover, dance and immerse yourself in Africa's formidable music scene like never before. The event is invitation only. Follow #ARTXLive on social media for a chance to win tickets. | | | |
