My People:
We read:
We have been having this same number quoted for decades now! No deaths, no recruitments, or just exactly balanced? Haba!
For a population of 180 million, a UN recommendation is 180x10*6/4x10*2 or 45x10*4 or 4,500,00, which means that Nigeria at 334,000 police force is one order of magnitude under-policed. Even the policemen we have are heavily concentrated around the Big Persons and Big Institutions of our society, and the rest of us are defended by God Almighty.
So we need State police urgently, for then each state can determine the number of police force It needs based on its population, security threats and affordability.
Anyway, I once wrote a piece on this:
MONDAY QUARTERBACKING: How many policemen do we actually need?
And there you have it.
