Clarification
Patrick Loch Otieno Lumumba is Kenyan, and the Director of the Kenya School of Laws.
His oratory on African issues has attracted a large following. He should not be confused with Patrice Lumumba,
however - whom he admires. They have a few things in common including a commitment to Pan-Africanism.
Someone should compile the speeches of Patrice Lumumba as well.
Raoul Peck's two films on Patrice Lumumba - La Mort d'un Prophete ( 1990) and
Lumumba (2000 ) - are two illuminating portrayals of the brilliant anti-colonialist
martyr whose powerful independence speech is captured on film in the 2000 production.
