As Nigeria's national elections approach - February 16th and March 2nd, 2019; it is a time for Nigerians and friends of Nigeria to be wary of Deja vu.
Dejà vu
This is the season of the beast
Who masks as humans
And mingle with the people
They vow to give honey
In barter for power
They bawl lies on soapbox
They bawl lies on soapbox
Giving scorpions for onions
The gulls they coax
Intent is to muzzle the Union
And pilfer our common treasure
Once the beasts grip the haft
Once the beasts grip the haft
Young men they'll turn to monkeys
They'll bellow and we'll quiver
Our dosh they'll use on whiskies
And use maidens as whores
And when the season is over
And when the season is over
They'll open their castles to paupers
In chicest apparel, they'll embrace lepers
Again, they'll vow to give the sun and the moon
Dejà vu!
