In this case however, I think that the 'stoning' was rather a strong figurative act of disapproval of a tone deaf president.
Nothing more.
A president whose citizens are being killed in large numbers in their beds, roads and farms, some say by foreigners, others say by cattle herders who innocently want green pastors and whose cattle are being rustled and yet others say by people who just want to grab lands that are not theirs.
Despite cries and anguish from the citizens, there is no reasonable response from the president and his gorvenment, and there is no hope for remedy. The situations continues to worsen and all the populace get are brazen lies and further misdeeds.
How do you make such an isolated president know the truth?
Civil disobedience? When there is no concience to appeal to and most citizens are already hungry and on strike.
A symbolic act that may shock him/her into reality?
The American Bush was 'stoned' with shoes to shock him into truely realizing what the people he claimed to be helping really thought of his help- which involved a lot of them dieing.
Arrest a Chief Justice Of Nigeria?! That may be legally permissible, but everything is not hinged on legality, what about the political consequences, for example?!CAO.
