Sv: USA Africa Dialogue Series - ONNOGHEN CONVICTED

Not only the courts (judiciary), but everything Nigerian is a kangaroo. During the screening by the Senate of a nominated Professor of Electricity as a Minister of Power on Wednesday, 23 January 2013, the Minister who was later confirmed told the Senate, "If the President deploys me in the power sector, I believe that given my performance at the University of Nigeria Nsukka, UNN, where as a Chancellor, I drove out the witches and demons, God will also give me power to drive out demons in the Power Sector." The kangaroo Minister of power produced darkness for Nigerians during his tenure and attributed his production of darkness to the will of God after collecting millions of dollars as remunerations and allowances, not from God but from the federal government of Nigeria.

Nigeria has four oil refineries that are allocated 445,000 barrels of crude oil per day to refine for domestic consumption. The allocation is more than the daily fuel need of the nation. However, kangaroo Engineers of assorted academic degrees conjure away 445,000 barrels of crude oil daily while wearing themselves in the toga of oil marketers and refined oil importers. I hereby leave to my readers to list out all other kangaroo institutions in Nigeria, while taking a look at Nigeria's kangaroo judiciary presided over by a kangaroo CJN, Onnoghen.

According to Nigeria's Code of Conduct Bureau Acts, Public Officers, like the CJN, are obliged to declare their assets. Yet, it was revealed that CJN Onnoghen did not declare his assets in 27 years. http://www.saharareporters.com/2019/04/03/exclusive-onnoghen-didn't-declare-his-assets-27-years-judicial-officer/
Why did the highest judicial officer in Nigeria, CJN Walter Onnoghen, choose to disobey the law of the land on public declaration of assets? The CJN simply replied that he forgot to declare his assets as if forgetfulness is a legal excuse in violating the law. Strange enough, when CJN Onnoghen finally declared his assets in 2016, he deliberately omitted five domiciliary accounts containing millions of money he maintained with the Standard Chartered Bank of Nigeria (in euro, dollar, pound Sterling and two naira accounts). Why he deliberately hid the five accounts in Standard Chartered Bank from his declaration is not as important as knowing the source(s) of the monies in those accounts. When confronted with the question about the source (s) of the monies, CJN Onnoghen simply said that they were dully earned. Although it had been rumoured that the NJC with its esprit de corps attitude had recommended CJN Walter Samuel Nkanu Onnoghen for retirement, it is against the principle of equality before the law to reward a criminal with retirement benefits while others with lesser crime languish in jail. With the corrupt mother hen in the judiciary now caged, the way is now cleared that the corrupt chicks in the judiciary granting frivolous bails, perpetual injunctions, unreasonable bails to criminals and adjourning criminal cases sine die will now be picked out of the judiciary. Disprove me if you are a kangaroo poet.
