Faroog argued the group was questionable based on the low correlation between the expectations represented by their name and their actual operations within the context of their explicit agenda.
A group that gives itself a name that suggests an umbrella gathering for a social demographic-Nigerian diaspora academics-is better served by sounding out other members of that demographic in order to bring as many as possible on board.
Farooq is bothered by the fact that not only did such a consultation not take place, the two active and perhaps the only visible members of the group is using the symbolic weight of that name in shoring up a govt that is destroying Nigeria.
Our situation in naija is not just one of 'supporting or not supporting the Buhari govt'.
The govt is being controlled by a terrorist agenda.

If a group of Nigerian poets decide, for example to form an association and name it "Nigerian Poets Association", without consulting me and decide to support the Buhari administration, which I do not support, it would not mean that the association is "fraudulent" and/or that what they are doing would be "wrong".
The best I can do is to come out and say that I am not associated with the association and that should end it!
I would not start some unnecesary arrogant postulations about the group being "fraudulent" and all that!
CAO.
