By Chidi Anthony Opara
I would have been celebrating you
Robert Gabriel Mugabe,
But I won't
'Cause your good deeds
Evaporated in the heat
Of your greedy cling to power.
You let the allure of power
To lure you away
From the ideals you fought for
In the days of your youth.
From the hall of fame
You walked into the hall of shame
And refused to walk back
To where you came from.
You came as a revolutionary,
Now
You depart as a reactionary,
Good riddance.
Shhh!
Quiet!
I speak Ill of the dead
Whose ills ail society.
