God is spirit and omnipresent. Therefore "the house of God" should not only be physical, it should also be spiritual and also omnipresent.
On the day of Pentecost, the holy spirit did not visit the disciples of Christ in the temple. The holy spirit found and visited them in their hiding place, where they were praying.
