Jae Deen—everyone must eat, feed the hungry, no one must starve

Zakat, No. 1.
If you do a salat (prayer) you must do a zakat (alms-giving), otherwise the salat is wasted. If you fast, remember to do a zakat, not to waste it. It is a non-negotiable religious obligation, one of the five pillars of Islam. Contrary to what critics say, zakat did not produce the poor on the streets; it is poverty that produces them, and what zakat does is to mitigate their suffering. As the modern states work zakat into formal, modern economic practice, they now refer to it as a "tax" and uses all sorts of arithmetic and calculators to say what people owe. It was intended to be voluntary, private, the amount or item given undisclosed, sometimes the giver may be unknown. The emphasis is on the needy, the poor, the stranded, debtors, and destitutes.
As you continue to fast, may prayer links you to Allah;
May the denial purifies your soul;
May your daily ablutions purify your body;
May salat purifies your soul;
May zakat purifies your incomes and add to them; and
May Allah forgive you if you have acquired anything in an improper manner
