Bruce Springsteen's guitarist, Steven Van Zandt, wrote the song "Sun City," which served to send the explicit message that all artists performing the song would never play at Sun City, the name of a South African resort that gave artists a great deal of money for their performance there. Peter Gabriel, U2, Run DMC, Afrika Bambaataa, Bob Dylan, and Kurtis Blow were among some artists who were featured in the song. Naturally, because of the song's message, it was banned in South Africa.
