The right to development in Africa is both urgent and mandatory. As this book points out, the components of this right include: fostering respect for the rule of law, defeating corruption, tapping into African cultures and philosophies, advancing gender justice, and promoting the right to education. Fostering the rule of law/constitutionalism/governance for the realisation of the right to development in Africa as articulated in article 22 of the African charter. The right to Development in Africa also includes narrative on International law, the UN Security Council, Decoloniality of power and the realization of the right to development in Africa: Some reflections and the right to women's participation in post-conflict reconstruction and its prospect for the enjoyment of the right to development: Lessons learned from the gender and peace-building discourse
