"Exploring Every Corner of the Cosmos in Search of Knowledge"
The story of my time meditating in the forest, trying to communicate with trees, invoking spirits both angelic and demonic, meditating for hours everyday for decades, in search of the island beyond space and time where the creator of the universe dwells, which yet glows in the human heart.
What have I discovered on this journey?
This is my effort to find out and an invitation to you to follow me as I retrace my steps.
A story of exploration across Yoruba Ifa, Hinduism, Buddhism, Benin Olokun, Sufism, the German philosopher Immanuel Kant, among other inspiring powers.
May you too be inspired into the expansion of mind and beyond into which these encounters have taken me.
The cover shows a majestic head from the Yoruba Ife civilization in reflection, juxtaposed with a sequence of ancient universal symbols, the snake, the spiral, the circle, sun, moon and others, images of continuity, of illumination both physical and abstract, of transformation and of beauty, as visualized by US artist Alexander Calder.
Both forms stand out against a sea of deepest black, the zone of unknowing as well as of the deepest knowing, black because it is beyond all that is conventionally known.
As the Ife head reflects in glorious contemplation, may we too distill our life's journey in terms of symbols of ultimate meaning.
A poetic text. Enriched with powerful images of an international network of symbols of the human quest for ultimate meaning as I have engaged with them.
