British PM and English Tetrarch Boris Johnson has announced a new set of Tier 4 restrictions for residents of London, East England and the South East.
In effect this means residents will spend Christmas alone and cancel restrictions relaxations promised by the PM less than a week ago between December 23 and 27 to enable families meet for celebrations.
The change of policy was precipitated by the rise of a new strain of the virus in the last two weeks that accounted for a rise of between 40 and 60 percent of new cases of infections in the affected areas. The infection rate of the new strain is phenomenal compared to previous ones.
