Emeritus Law Professor Samuel O. Gyandoh, Jr. of University of Ghana and Temple University
Beasley School of Law has died in Accra, Ghana. He was 87 years old.

Professor Gyandoh, who returned to Ghana from the U.S. not long ago, reportedly died in his leep
(of natural causes). Several of his Ghana and U.S.-based former Law students as well as family
members, friends, and professional colleagues are mourning his sudden death. Professor Philip
C. Aka, the former Dean of the Law Faculty at the International University of Sarajevo (located
in Bosnia and Herzegovina) was a student of Emeritus Professor Gyandoh at the Beasley
School of Law at Temple University. He described Emeritus Professor Gyandoh as a brilliant
legal mind, adding: "He deserves his rest, as he did his best for the legal profession through
his exemplary teaching. May he rest in peace.."

Fordham University Law School's retired Adjunct Law Professor Victor Kwesi Essien, a former
student of the deceased Law don, also lamented his death. Dr. Essien, the current Rector and
Professor of Law at Nyansapo College (an affiliated college of Cape Coast University, Ghana),
recalled his brilliance in Law, adding that he was also "a decent human being".
