An Invitation to Modern African Witchcraft

Seated in my study at Eholo Street, Benin-City, Nigeria, I visualized the forest at Ekenwan Road where the Ogba river breaks ground after a long underground journey, a place mysterious and beautiful, awesome and inspiring, wondering about the source of the dense atmosphere around the place, my eyes closed in contemplation.
I suddenly found myself somewhere else, with a woman's hand on my head, as if in blessing. An unfamiliar place, but one in which I was welcome.
A middle aged Black woman, with African art figurines lining the wall behind her, indicating the cultural context of the experience.
I was not dreaming, I understood. I was in control of my faculties, though not as alert as normal. Having established these defining aspects of the experience, I opened my eyes to find myself back in my study.
I am building what I describe as Modern African Witchcraft on the contemplative practice that inadvertently led to this experience and reinforcing it with ideas on the relationship between human beings and nature in Yoruba Orisa spirituality.
I invite you to join me on this journey.
The journey begins in earnest with an audio recording in which I present the theory, practice and ethics of this new spirituality.
