Dear all,
In addition to updates/instructions already provided, we are adding more.
1. Given the difference in time zones, we would like to clarify that all times announced for the 20th Annual Africa Conference at The University of Texas at Austin are in Central Daylight Time (CDT). So, please, do the conversation/adjustment based on your country and/or time zone.
Last minute preparations: please do the following before tomorrow.
2. Visit this link to register and download your copy of the conference schedule. Please note that you must register to access and download the schedule. After submitting your registration, you will be prompted to proceed to download the conference schedule. Click on the link and then click the blue "download" button once the page loads. You will see a warning that the file has not been scanned for viruses, click the "download anyway button in blue. The file is very large and may take up to 5-10 minutes to finish downloading, depending on your internet speed.
3. Share your papers with your panel chairs and others listed on your panel. This is important to allow other participants enough time to carefully read your paper and come ready to the panel with helpful feedback.
4. Take some time to visit the conference website click here to go to the website. Visit the different links on the website and familiarize yourself with the setup. The website is setup to ensure hitch free access to the conference events and rooms.
5. Prepare your PowerPoints for your presentation and let us know in advance if you'll need help with the zoom technology, especially with screen sharing if you do not know how this works. Our technical assistants are happy to provide every needed support.
6. If you need help joining the conference, sharing your screen during your presentation, and/or participating in the different sessions, as well as with any other issue related to your participation in the conference, please send us an email at help.utafricaconference@gmail.com and we will have someone help you as soon as possible.
7. We have made digital flyers available to create more awareness on social media (see attachment). If you don't mind, do please share on your social media handles, listserv and any other platform you can think of.
Do please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
We look forward to connecting with you all beginning this Thursday.
Sincerely,
Chukwuemeka
