Re: USA Africa Dialogue Series - Poetic Thought

Dear Chidi,

Deepest apologies for sending the wrong link.

This is what I have in mind, truly enjoyable, follow-able ( for the follow-follow people)

Sikiru,

Yes matter dey.

Buhari's handling of the excesses of the Fulani militia (aka Fulani herds men) gave rise to fringe characters like Ikonso and Igboho.

If whenever the Fulani militia attempt to attack and such attacks are promptly contained by the military and paramilitary services, there would have been no need for the aforementioned thugs.

The military and paramilitary services instead of arresting the situation, encourages it and only act to prevent revenge against the Fulani militia.

If you had not brought in the angle that minimized Buhari's part in the present insecurity in the country, I wouldn't have accused you of being a Buharist.

Finally, thank you for appreciating my poems and making it public. It takes courage for a man like you to admit to being a fan of a Motor Park Poet (MPP).

Sir, this is unfair. I'm an Oparaist. I read a lot of your poems to boost my alleged Buharism. Sir, jokes part, this is no longer a Buhari issue. He might have his failings but no Buhari can use a military might to suppress agitations now. The media will turn bandits' identities to those of harmless protesters. I wish one major step of naming the sponsors of this disintegration agenda could manifest. They include those who were destroying our economies and who lost out in subsequent policy realignments. We know them in the North East and in the middle Belt. We also know a governor whose state has never brought out any news on governance, welfare of citizens, projects' execution, education etc. He was even livid with public anger when a major warlord was killed in his state. He never owed up to the existence of deadly ethnic rivalry in which his life has been targeted. The Gov has basked in the euphoria of the boring narratives of suspected herdsmen since his election. Sir Chidi, matters dey o

I'm puzzled.

The only people I know to be championing ethnic independence suxh as IPOB  are anti-Nigerian elections.

Sikiru has entered into the " the system is okay as it is group. It's just bad people who are spoiling it."

I see this group as escapist.

The more realistic group is the one of "let's renegotiate the terms of our co-existence."

This looks more realistic to me.

Meanwhile is Sikiru more  a Buhari govt supporter than a genuine nationalist as different from a partisan political advocate?

A person who excuses the President of Fulani Herdsmen terrorism, the President of 95 percent vs 5 percent, a person who has no problem with a possible perhaps likely terrorist person as Minister of Communications and Digital Infrastructure may look more  a govt supporter than a non- partisan person.

But how balanced was I in my support of GEJ as I observed the jihadist mindset of Buhari since before 2015?

The present system seems not to be working.

Sirs, it is indeed a circle of anarchy. One fact which we refuse to admit is that Nigeria is overwhelmed by internal and external saboteurs. People wonder where arms and bandits are coming from when we are surrounded by failed states. Everybody is celebrating every blow on Nigeria and blaming it on Buhari. No research has thrown up how corruption us fighting back viciously and how election users are funding insurgency all over the nation. The Presidency is not helping matters by not naming the identified sponsors of insurgencies. Everybody appears victorious that they prophesied that Nigeria cannot work.
To all of us, the situation is confronting us. We must change our narratives from ethnic and religious profiling to nationalist perspectives. Let it be said that intellectuals stood apart from social media hypes and manipulations. It is not too late. Those who will profiteer from a balkanized Nigeria are already increasing their stakes in the disintegration agenda. Those who are championing ethnic independence are also preparing hard for the 2023 elections. Imagine that!!!Help us to stop the manipulations and the discordant historical tunes about ethnic dominations. The diagnosis of the Nigerian problem is already exhausted. The narratives must change. We cannot restructure in a state of anomie. I urge that those who have choices should help us with no choices.
