New religions, old religions, and of course the Superpowers would like to befriend the aliens hoping to be taught that which they know not. And due to climate change this planet earth could get too hot for human beings to live in, but maybe not for the aliens, humanoids landing in their super-duper space crafts.
Imagine: The UFO lands on the outskirts of the Sambisa Forest or at the Abuja Airport. Some some weird-looking green men with antennae attached to their heads climb out, walk to passport control and demand of Chief of Military Intelligence Major-General Chidi-Eze and the security people there: Take me to Your Leader! No questions such as "Who be you ?" Or, "Do you have a visa ?"
Confirmation of UFOS should be so exciting for the UFO-ologists, more grist to the mill for developing their religions such as Raëlism and a resurgence in sales of books by e.g. Erich von Däniken, the Book of Enoch and a general Renaissance of the New Age Theologies. What impact this will have on mainstream Christianity and atheism will be hard to imagine. And Judaism? An interest in Merkabah Kabbalah will increase whilst belief in Wernher Von Braun will decrease.
When the USSR cosmonauts went up to space they said that they did not find " God" there. With Indian cosmology the various Indian mystical schools and practitioners it's very different; for the past thousands of years adept yogis have been travelling to the various lokas such as Chandra (the moon). Baba Muktananda has described some of these journeys to the various planets , in his spiritual autobiography The Play of Consciousness
The Sufi is supposed to have attained to his goal after completing a certain seven journeys...
More or less in this post-enlightenment age the question of where or what is "Heaven" and where are "the Seven Heavens" remains for the unenlightened. As my young friend Masso told his mother when he was five years old, "Mamma, förr i tiden då Gud fanns, då låg Himmelen där rymden är nu //Mother, in the old days when God existed, then Heaven was where space is now."
As to the existence of energies known as angels and other forms (with or without wings, tails, etc.) should the report confirm the existence of other advanced spiritual technologies (faster than light, more instantaneous than Nada, the word (that was in the beginning (shabda) and the mathematical calculations of NASA, then new vistas will have been opened up for the believers and the disbelievers alike except that we will see people like Oluwatoyin Vincent Adeöpoju "Exploring Every Corner of the Cosmos in Search of Knowledge" – with even much greater zeal such as becoming a Sufi "salik" (traveller)
This may sound like another Amos Tutuola type of phantasmagoria, but there are many dimension that the reptilian brain is yet unaware of such as The Planet of the snakes and Sri M's meeting with Nagaraj
