UP PHILOSOPHY SEMINAR

We now live in an age where thinking is no longer associated with humans alone but with machines as well. Does the human mind still command any special place in the setting up and development of society? Is the human mind still relevant in society? In the coming years, would we still need to think to address societal problems?
The UP Philosophy Seminar is about the revival of philosophy in its classic form as an intellectual practise that thrives on thinking as a field of forces. We hereby extend open invitations to those who consider themselves as thinkers in their various areas of specialisation to write us attaching a short bio of 200 words max that speak to any aspect of their research that reflects thinking as a deep, critical, creative and, more importantly, imaginative endeavour. Topics to be presented at the seminar can address concrete societal problems or can seek to extend the frontiers of knowledge in an abstract form. However, such a topic MUST propose a new idea either in terms of a theory, concepts or principles. The aim of the UP Philosophy seminar is to restore thinking in its classic conception to the centre of the philosophic practice.
