Of course Amotekun units will be equippped with surveillance cameras. Yes, there might be constitutional crisis but the army will not take over because their instigators up North will know for sure this move would definitely be the end of Nigeria as we know it with so much arms around and multi- pronged secessionists agitations across the nation.
The usual champions of military intervention up North since 1979 know they will be the greatest losers since the climate will be non existent for the enjoyment of their age- long loots and money laundering police will be on their trail across the world.
It will not be as neat and straight forward as 1967. It will be messy, deadly and unimaginably bloody.
The Sambisa forest has indeed been cleared by the nations military, but the Federal Govt's duplicitous policy with regard to Boko Haram terrorists means ' repentant' terrorists provide access to terrorists from across the border to continually wreak havoc on innocent citizenry.
This again underscores the fact that with Nigeria the best federalist model is the confederal model; we are back to Aburi- Yakubu Gowon eat your heart out! ( where is Yakubu Gowon now?)
As you know Boko Haram is no longer Nigeria's greatest terrorist headache, since its more localised than the ubiquitous banditry and Fulani herdsmen palava which are the chickens coming home to roost up North, and clucking southwards.

I hope that the Southern State Governments will all have their surveillance cameras rolling to capture the Fulani Herds and their herders approaching, in order to record what transpires, otherwise, it will be word against word ( like the Lekki massacre, and would there have been any justice for the murder of George Floyd if there had not been a video camera that recorded it?
Whilst the Federal Govt. is eager to assert rights of free movement for Nigeria's cows and herdsmen in the grasslands and forests in no man's land and other peoples' private/state property - and to monitor/ensure the safety of the Fulani cattle and their guardians wherever they may roam/ trespass/ encroach, it's still a wonder that after so many years, the awesome Nigerian Military and Airforce which did peacekeeping in Sierra Leone ( at enormous cost) with all the available ground and air support are proving themselves unsuccessful/incapable when it comes to flushing Boko Haram out of the grasslands of the Sambisa Forest, or have they done so?
The next foreseeable stage in this looming conflict is that the Federal Government refuses to back down, things get out of hand and the 2023 Elections are postponed because to deal with the ensuing situation a state of emergency and curfew will have to be declared, as necessary, and for that to happen, the army will have to be called in, to squash whatever and wherever insurrection rears its defiant head. Commander-in-chief may have no choice but to declare a nationwide state of emergency and if he's not careful, the army might eventually take over completely, on the grounds that only they are capable of quelling the anarchy and instability that threatens the oneness of Nigeria. Should it get to that we would have witnessed Africa's next military coup as a fait accompli

Are the Miyetti Allah conversant with the fine print of the anti-grazing bills?
Some of us are waiting with bated breath for the many inevitable flashpoints/confrontations/ clashes looming ahead...
Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu is emphatic that "compliance ... shall be given the utmost attention " but concretely, exactly what does he mean by "Government shall pursue with vigour, through lawful means, to ensure strict compliance."? When, in fact, by "government" he means his state government - one of thirsty six state governments, in his case a state government that is ostensibly at loggerheads with the Federal Government. In the ensuing conflict that is fast approaching, who will emerge " victorious" as the overhead boss, State or Federal? President Buhari or the individual or collective known as the "Southern Governors"? The Local Police Law Enforcement or the Federal Military armed to the teeth?

In the democracies, we are familiar with signs such as "Trespassers will be prosecuted " but what's in stores for the Fulani Herdsmen trespassers whose cows, escorted by armed herdsmen or under paramilitary escort ( to ward off rustlers) actually defy the local state anti-grazing laws? Will they be arrested? Rounded up and escorted to the nearest detention centre? And if that happens, in their absence, who will take care of their cows?
