Professor Gloria:
Thank you very much for the awe-inspiring news below to the effect that, finally, the Mother of Modern Medicine has
been honored by the World Health Organization (W.H.O.), headed by our Ethiopian brother that Mr. Donald J. Trump
detested; no wonder, Ethiopia's Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali won the Nobel Peace Prize instead of the then U.S.
President!
In fact, Henrietta Lack's life and times have been brought to my classrooms for many years. Today (Thursday,
10/14/2021), I plan to print the attachment for my Black Biography History Honors Class at University of Oregon.
Continue the inspiring historical work you continue to do, my fellow distinguished Historian. I always remember
that we are among the Oxford alumni of the former Center for Cross-Cultural Research on Women (CCCRW),
Queen Elizabeth House!!
Cheers!
A.B. Assensoh
