"Peter Obi is Ahead Of Atiku Abubakar.
Mr Obi is ahead of him (Mr Atiku) in terms of capacity to make decisions. So how are we going to hand the country to somebody who has never held a position who has never shown capacity where he makes the final call....."(Festus Keyamo).
Remark:
Surprised that supposedly reasonably educated persons are running around with this convoluted logic.
For starters, some persons who emerged as executive heads of government in the advanced countries we love to copy were never in position to perform executive functions at the state and/or council administration before their emergence.
A Nigerian Vice-president is statutorily the Chairman of the Economic Council and Vice-chairman of the Executive Council of the Federation and acts as the Acting President in the absence of the President. Atiku was Vice-president for 8 years.
A Nigerian governor on the other hand is the Chief Executive Officer of a state in Nigeria. A state in Nigeria is a unit of the Federation with statutory functions outside the "Exclusive List" of the constitution, which only the Federal government statutorily superintendents. Peter Obi was governor.
Local Council Chairmen in Nigeria are also statutorily assigned functions. They are the Chief Executive Officers of their respective Local Council Areas.
Now, the Keyamo convoluted logic assumes in its wrong assumptions that the current Local Council Chairmen for example, exercise more executive responsibilities than the current Vice-president of Nigeria.
Problem is that supposedly educated persons are running around with this type of logic.
Our education system in Nigeria sure need a review.
