--Create new areas?Perhaps so -and that is to state that thereis such a thing as specialization.I was simply pointing tothe existing framework, though. As for awards, I don't take theNobel Peace Prize seriously.Sorry. Warmongers havebeen on that list. Who is doingthe validation and for whatreason?
But we shouldn't throwout the baby with the bathwater. Some awards areto be taken more seriouslythan others.

The questions that come to mind are many:
- Should disciplines like political science, sociology, anthropology, history and philosophy,
- for example, simply merge into one colossal, homogenous unit called PSAHP, or
- something to that effect, or should they keep their individual identities and disciplinary boundaries.
2. Are there conceptual, methodological, procedural, organizational distinctions that make these disciplines
unique or are these boundaries artificial?
3. How important is specialization within these disciplines? In history we have thematic and regional
specialists. Areas of specialization include military, environmental, intellectual, diplomatic, art
and social history. Indigenous Knowledges, Women's history, Oral history, public history,
history of science and technology and legal history are also among history's fields of specialization.
Genomic history is an emerging discipline. So should all these fields of specialization be encouraged
to merge into one? Is it possible?
Hearty congratulations on this appointment as Extraordinary Professor of Political Science.
