Thanks for this intro to Kwasi Kwarteng, born of Ghanaian immigration parents to the UK, whose educational history and scholarly career demonstrate him as one of the world's high achievers, Eton, Cambridge-BA, PhD, Harvard, writer of very successful books.
I'm happy for the ascendacy of such ethnic newcomers to the UK power circle as Sunak, Kwasi, the mayor of London and others.
Kwasi's educational trajectory and it's intersection with UK politics is correlative with that of Barack Obama- Harvard law- the constellation of the most prestigious and most selective universities in relation to political office in the UK-Oxford, Cambridge-and the US-Yale, Harvard, in the past Princeton- with Woodrow Wilson, but this picture needs modification, given such figures as Trump and the UK's John Major among others.
What factors enable these configurations?
Thanks
Toyin

Mighty Congratulations to Liz Truss
At least she did not win her vote of confidence by a landslide. This means that the Conservative Party is not that polarised after all and can, therefore - potentially - be healed, unified in the spirit of " In Liz we Trust"
Other good news: There's some talk about Kwasi Kwarteng being appointed next Chancellor of the Exchequer, even as Sunak slinks to oblivion as a backbencher….
