Africans balancing load on their heads .health and safety.
By Augustine Togonu-Bickersteth,London,England
Concerned individuals, organizations or governments
need to,perhaps, help stop africans on the continent from
Balancing or having loads on their heads.
The head is not meant to be under the strain of any load rather
it is meant to contain the brain and the brain is there for us all
To think amongst other functions,
If we stop africans from having loads on the head, they might be
Encouraged to come up with inventions or innovations that help
to move a load from point A to point B.
I particularly want to mention women in nigeria on construction sites
They are usually recruited to climb up and down stairs or incline with
pans of wet concrete on their heads. This should not be happening
In a world of levers, pulleys and engines in the 21st century,
And health and safety wise, blouses and wrappers as won by
women are inappropriate for construction sites, The women on
construction sites like men need to put on helmets,
Hi vis ,reflective jackets, special shoes that protect
the toes, steel top toes and gloves where necessary.
they should be made to wear the standard top and
trousers for construction sites.
