When I saw your heralded headline, "Nobel Literature Prize", I thought that another African has won the 2022 Prize.
However, you had no news for your funs, like me. Instead, I went online to read that 82-year old French
memoirist (Annie Ernaux) has been pronounced the winner in Stockholm for this year.
I did not lose hope for either an African or a Black writer from the Diaspora to win the Award again in future. After
all, we have several of our writers in their 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s. If they can hang on, in age, they may clinch it
in their 80s or even in their 90s! Once they are still alive, it can happen to them. In the words of Rev. Jesse Jackson, Sr.:
"Let's keepnnae hope alive!"
