USA Africa Dialogue Series - On students going home to vote:sesame street and preventive health

Going home to vote?, Lecturers and Students Living with the People: of Sesame street, preventive health and development

When the students and lecturers live with the people and not on exclusive campuses they would be well integrated into the problems of the people . so they take to these problems, MORNING AFTER MORNING. tu use the titled of the Autobiogrphy of my vice chancellor Ayo Banjo
On these problems as they affect the people, they ask questions in the lecture theatre ,discuus in the common roons and the staff club, the student union bar, they experiment in the laboratory, fabricate solutions in the workshops for the people, consult books in the library on the peoples problems, and they model and simulate these problems in theeir ir workstations or if you like personal computing devices and infrastructure they make presentations at workshop,s public lectures, inaugurasl, seminasr and conferences.

Why should the student be made to vacate the campus for reasons of travelling home to vote? nine months they are on campus so they should vote as persons living on a university campus on problems confronting their campuess and not on the basis of issues in their villages.
alternatively the lecturers and students should live with the people
It was an Endinburgh trained Surgeon Dr.F B O, olatoregun who told me yeas back with regards to a write up on universities, that the lecturers and students should live with the people so hey know the peoples problems

On sesame stret the childrens Television workshop old there is the Song that goes in par: WHO ARE THE PEOPLE IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD?
i think what the song tries to do is not only create awareness about your neighborhood but also helps to promote mixed neighborhoods
and your neighbors have a lot to do about the quality of life you live
but in th situation where certain persons or group of persons are absent due to class structure or related matters the community may suffer for it and the natin as well #community #development #quality #like
