Nations are not about historical accuracies—as those must be contested—but more about mythologies. Those who created the Mali Empire and the Sundiata story understood this better that those who govern the contemporary country of Mali.
Africa is doing badly not only because of the indices we allude to but i) there are no intellectuals of the nation, in terms of myth creation; and ii) whereas the mythologies of the organic nations worked, as in the Bayajidda story or the Oduduwa origin story, there are no mythologies for the modern nation.
