Nigerian Media is getting better! Beyond Se.gun Osoba.......
i had previously had my quarrel or reservations about the nigerian
media industry but of recent i think they are getting better and shifting ground. shifting to solutions journalism from freedom fighting journalism or combative journalism.
how do i mean,? .After the Mau Mau uprising, what happens to the freedom fighters? Kai! they became professionals!!!! professional freedm fighters. what they are told by my "God father" , Chief Segun Osoba is that if you do not hit a Government people would not buy your paper. Osoba signed my certificate at the, Nigerian institute of journalism,ikeja,lagos for a short course on public information and community relations.
i just read a piece on dementia in the guardian newspaper and i am very impresed, that is not hitting at government and it could still help to sell the paper. kudos to the writer ayomide okunu, new generation writer and journalist,june 6 2023.good reader service!!
i am not out to criticise, Chief segun Osoba, how can I? in 1964,he was the only journalist found with a telephone line. he must have been a dangerous man because he was always getting news!. what"s so dangerous about that? because in their own time they were taught amongst other things, that news is what someone some where wants to supress and anything else is advertisement. and you know the world is out to supress so many things. but BBC style, no story is worth a journalists life! coincidentally today is the 7th of june. Chief OSOBA is one of the three greatest seguns and they are all associated with the number 7. Chief Olusegun obasanjo ex nigerian president , known in close circles as 007 and initiator of festac 77, oficial year of birth 1937,
chief segun osoba born in the 7th month of the year,july, and Chief Segun Odegbami, soccer star, known as mathematical 7!
these three seguns are all brilliant writers, writing for the newspapers
7 is said to be the number of intelligence. #customerexperience
