Mary Ama Bawa to Interview Samia Nkrumah, June 25
Mary is the Communications Lead at the Cyber Security Authority (CSA), leading the Communications team to create cybersecurity awareness, and secure Ghana's cybersecurity space through state regulations. As a broadcast journalist with two decades of field experience in both commercial and community radio, she has worked as a news anchor, talk show host, content developer, copywriter, and documentarian.
She has interviewed renowned bureaucrats, academics, and politicians including Ghana's President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and has received a number of awards. In collaboration with journalists from media platforms in Germany, the US, and UK, she has produced high-impact features and documentaries. Additionally, she has moderated high-profile regional, national and international events.
She has published numerous impactful articles on Ghana's fishery sector, climate change, and ocean safety. Mary is an entrepreneur and an advocate for the rights of women and girls to education and health.
She has a Bachelor of Education degree in Arts, Master of Arts degrees in Peace and Development Studies, and Communication Studies, and a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree in Communication and Media Studies. She is currently a Ph.D. student in Media and Journalism Studies at the University of Education, Winneba.
Prior to joining the CSA, she lectured at the Department of Communication Studies of the University of Cape Coast.
