Professor Wunpini Fatimata Mohammed to join the Panel Discussion on Celebrating African Women, March 17, 2024
Wunpini Fatimata Mohammed was born and raised in Tamale. She is a feminist activist-scholar and an Assistant Professor of global media in the College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia. She is co-editor of the book African Women in Digital Spaces: Redefining Social Movements on the Continent and in the Diaspora (2023). Her research which focuses on feminisms, social movements, decolonization and media have appeared in various scholarly journals. She has worked as a journalist in Ghana for several years and some of her work has appeared in Al Jazeera, The Washington Post and The Guardian.
